About
I use close observation of the natural world as a starting point for imagined plantscapes full of growth, weather, labour and other natural processes. My work is informed by ecological thinking: how we might broaden our ways of thinking about our place in the world and the relationship to our non-human others and how printmaking can help imagine these new modes. My process combines etched lino with more traditional relief printing methods.
I began printmaking whilst living in East Africa. I worked for ten years in sustainable agriculture and food growing before turning to creative work full time and my work is strongly influenced by this previous land based career as well as an off grid upbringing in Pembrokeshire. I am currently doing an MA at Aberystwyth University and I am director of Aberystwyth Printmakers.
